Stoke sign Stephen Kelly on loan
Stoke City have announced the signing of defender Stephen Kelly on loan from Championship side Birmingham City till the end of the season.The Dublin born right back was unable to travel to Stoke because of bad weather on transfer deadline day, but because the Premier League had received an email confirmation saying that the deal had been agreed in principle, the move was allowed to go through.Kelly joined Birmingham from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006 for £750,000. He was the only outfield player to feature in all of Birmingham’s Premier League games during the 2007-08 season.Kelly becomes Stoke’s fourth winter signing, after James Beattie, Henri Camara and Matthew Etherington.Stoke are currently involved in a relegation battle in the Premiership ( 17th in the table at the time of writing this article)
